The legendary tale of "Lady White Snake" took place here. Scenic and historical interest scattered around West Lake. Whenever Hangzhou is referred, West Lake is invariably reminded. Although it is also associated to national heroes and revolutionary martyrs, scenes like Moon over the Peaceful Lake, Three Ponds Mirroring the Moon, Orioles Singing in the Willows, and many others made HangZhou probably the MOST romantic spots in China.
